ESD is found on three campuses and will continue to develop. It currently has 248,000 feet square (23,000 m²) in facilities. The campus housing the very center and Upper Schools is situated on Midway Road and spans a lot more than 39 acres (160,000 m2). The very first building – the gymnasium – was carried out the late 1970s. Classes were held during a workout session before the main building was carried out in 1981. A serious increase of the primary building was finished in 1986. This expansion included a library, publication suite, fine arts facilities, classrooms, and offices. The Cook Science and math building was carried out in 1994. It houses the science labs, math classrooms, and a couple computer labs. All Saints Chapel was opened in 2002 previously, daily chapel was held at the gym. The Susan M. Frank Center for Arts and Humanities Building opened in 2005. In addition to humanities classrooms and expanded music facilities, it gives you an increased-tech proscenium theater, a black box theater, ceramic studio, along with a darkroom/digital imaging suite. A brand new additions to the Merrell Road campus are a 55,000 feet square (5,100 m²) center for arts and humanities plus a new ESD Dallas stadium full of state-of-the-art athletic turf, locker rooms, and accommodations for home and visiting fans. ESD’s rural outdoor education center, situated in northern Collin County, is on 165 acres (.67 km²). The Stephen B. Swann Athletic and Wellness Center opened in 2010, it houses the Dining Commons, physical education facilities, and auxiliary offices. The 100,000+ sq . ft . building features a competition gymnasium, indoor track, strength and conditioning, and also cardio work-out rooms, sports medicine facilities, a multi-purpose dance studio, expanded locker rooms, a team room and training offices, campus bookstore, and concessions. The new Dining Commons offers a 480-seat dining room overlooking the quarry along with the Louise Crespi Benners Courtyard, an innovative kitchen and meal serving area, and offices for varsity auxiliary services. The kitchen functions as a “laboratory” where students and parents can study on nutritional experts and professional chefs. Nutrition-based curriculum remains included in the low, Middle, and Upper Schools, beneath the guidance with the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center along with the junior ESD Nutrition Curriculum Committee. The best goal is always to influence the neighborhood long after they graduate. One on the competing schools is Good Shepherd Episcopal School.
